Vile Correctness
Compromise. Webster’s defines it as, “a settlement of differences by arbitration or by consent reached by mutual concessions,” and “concession to something derogatory or prejudicial,” and “to make a shameful or disreputable concession.”
Try to guess which definitions I’d like to address in this blog. It’s a topic I have wanted to write on for quite some time now.
It’s a Matter of the Heart
At issue is our worldview and if it is reliant upon the truth as shared in the Word of God and in the principles espoused by our founding fathers that was responsible for the freedom in our nation and from which we have been the beneficiaries. God’s favor and assistance were sought by these same brave men and women, of many who gave their lives that we would live in freedom. In considering our worldview today, ask yourself if you fit into one of the following three categories. Are you willing to adopt syncretism, the fusion of good and wrong beliefs in order to get along with others? One might call it “fudging a little bit.” Do you instead claim pluralism, where one moves from one belief to another based upon what the latest person said to you? Like a straw in the wind. Or, are you a victim of relativism where you believe that truth is subjective to each individual? The “anything goes” belief.
Or do you stay with God’s ultimate truth that creates a fair, free, and prosperous society? One that does not feed a narcissistic attitude of it all being about you and no one but you, a belief that whatever helps you personally is the only goal.
Being politically correct is practically never correct! Every civilization that has fallen has fallen from within, not from without. In Rome, society and its culture died a monstrous moral death after numerous “Make Rome Great” movements went south from selfishness, greed for money and power, and meeting only the individual’s desires.
Followers of Christ, not wanting to “offend,” usually take the low road and stay quiet, allowing the opinions of the left to grow in popularity unchallenged. Thus the fake media makes it appear that they have a substantially larger following than it truly does. Then, over years and decades, (the devil is patient, you know), the minority gets what it wants at the expense of the just and followers of truth. Polls eventually show the effects of the cowardly response by those who know the truth but are afraid of speaking up. The fake media then maintain that a majority favors the lie. As the true saying goes, “When good men say nothing, evil triumphs.” The result is a dying culture, dying morality, and truth being replaced by lies.
The husband of one of our ministry’s teammates wrote me recently about his situation in Costa Rica and I believe he hit the nail on the head for America also. He stated, “I believe that lukewarm pastors make things easy for the enemy to culturally and socially undermine society in every aspect. Some people from a church council here have made remarks to the effect that all churches should know these truths and alert the people, etc., but not one word of interest from the pastor.” (Shared by Fernando on a television interview about the Costa Rican economy) He finished with what I believe should be a headline in the press everywhere: “As a nation, we are trying to catch up with and pass Venezuela in its descent while the crew is painting the interior of the Titanic.” Well said, Fernando!
Fear of Man
The primary issue surrounds fear. I find so many followers of Christ and other very fine people are more concerned about peoples’ opinions of them than having a willingness to speak the truth. I just finished reading multiple verses in my Bible where it speaks of people being unwilling to speak up due to their fear of man and what man night say. None of them, not one, said it was a good thing, but instead painted a picture of cowardice.
Even back in Roman days, there were those serving the power of darkness that had more courage to speak up than the Christian church. I honestly put most of the blame on the church of Jesus Christ for the condition our nation is in today. It has been silent from its pulpits, just as Fernando shared. Not because it is illegal to speak out on moral and political issues (because it is NOT illegal to do so), but because of ministers’ fear of offending someone. They have also believed one of the main lies perpetrated by the left and that is that there must be a separation of church and state. There is no law that requires that! Well, no one offended more than the Lord Jesus Christ and He gave His life for us as a result. So if we want to mimic the life of the Son of God, we should expect to do nothing less than what He did. He was more intent on obeying His Father in heaven and doing what His Father said to do than what some liberal pundit said in His time.
The Word of God says in Matt. 10:22, “You will be hated for My names’ sake.” Jesus is our example. We have temptations to go along–to be liked, approved, and accepted. But that is simply fear of man. The Word of God doesn’t have much good to say about that. Jesus made it very clear by stating over and over that the world hated him without a cause for the hatred—He said, “If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you.” And yet, He did not care, because He knew who He was, he understood His identity and so should we! We can be bigger than that. There is no reason that we should be threatened by someone disagreeing with what we have to say. We should be solid in our beliefs and principles.
Too often we are “lite” Christians, “lite” patriots, and “lite” warriors. Raise the bar! If we don’t do it, who will? But some might say that we are enlightened today! “We don’t like the law, rules, or making an issue of anything.” In the “olden days,” we called it “situation ethics.” Today I call it cowardice. Are we to reflect the world with simply a Christian “spin?” We should be agents of change, friends. Just remember the truth of the rotten apple in the barrel. It only takes one, but if no one removes that rotten apple, the entire barrel becomes spoiled.
Charles Summer, one of our patriots from way back said, “From the beginning of our history, the country has been afflicted with compromise. It is by compromise that human rights have been abandoned. I insist that this shall cease. The country needs repose (a chance to place confidence and trust in someone or something) after all its trials; it deserves repose. And repose can only be found in everlasting principles.” Those principles are found in the Word of God and echoed by our Constitution. The principles have never changed. The same principles work today. Let us not be a people who live out what the Philosopher Satayana said, “Those who will not learn from history are condemned to repeat it.” Silence is not golden, it is yellow.
Allowing the Left to Dictate the Agenda
Compromise, being politically correct, being spiritually correct, is all wrong. It allows the fake media, Communists, Socialists, left wing, and the like to control those who disagree with them. Notice that they don’t care what you think of them? Notice they have no problem being out front and saying what they believe and don’t care one whit about your opinion or beliefs? So why don’t WE?? Why do we allow them to set the agenda? The saying that if you repeat a lie often enough, people will being to believe it, is true. Lies about homosexuality, abortion, living together unmarried, LGBTQ, climate change, removing our Second Amendment rights, socialism, universal health care and so much more are lies that are being perpetrated by Satan and ignored by those who don’t agree with them. Rather than speaking up and speaking the TRUTH about those lies, silence will destroy our nation if we allow the left to set the agenda! Let’s take it back!
The Left loves to use labels to attempt shaming those with opposite views from theirs. Many times those labels fit them, the accuser, perfectly instead of the ones they accuse; this has been a tactic designed by the Communist Party for over a century. Why? Because it has been an effective tool only because of the lack of backbone of those they label. Have you noticed that the left does not want concessions, but wants you to give them concessions? Notice that it is always a one-way street in their favor? This is just one more reason why we must stand our ground with no wavering. In the book of James in the Bible, James says, “My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into various trials…if you lack wisdom, let him ask of God…but let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind…he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” Who wants to be double-minded? The left isn’t!
The press and media deliberately make it appear like a majority wants the changes in society when it is a distinct minority instead. They know that. They simply want to be a part of destroying what made this country great. Allowing the fake media to influence our beliefs and principles is indeed a sin. We need to know that the Word of God says that we are to expect opposition and persecution when we do speak up.
1 Peter 2:19 – 21: “For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully, for what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow in His steps.” We should not be surprised if we are slandered and accused for speaking the truth. We are not responsible for others’ responses, but we are responsible for being the salt of the earth and the light of the world.
And of course, the Lord taught us in Matt. 5:10, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
Today the left has finally found a president who does not apologize for his stance on things and thus their accusations have not had the same effect as in the past. It has placed them in a rage. We all have an opportunity to change the direction our nation has been going while we have someone with true grit in office.
Being the Example
Even much Christian music today imitates the world; we absolutely have to “cross over” to reach people, we’re told. Do we? I’m not talking about just having a hundred “Rock of Ages” songs out there, but something more than rap and done in a way that others can understand the lyrics! My wife and I have been to some major Christian concerts in our city over the past year. In half the songs, you can’t even hear the lyrics much less understand them. The music is so deafening you would never know you were at a Christian concert. Not all of them have been that way, of course, but too many. Casting Crowns were awesome!
The world says that all must be equally right so we can no longer say that people are wrong and still claim to love them. Hogwash. The left says it is hate if we disagree. Then why not ask them what they call it when they disagree with us? What do they call it then? Asking someone who actually operates in hate to defend themselves creates a conundrum for them. What do they say? How can they defend their actions? Take for example the way the Pennsylvania state representative treated an older lady who was praying outside a Planned Parenthood location. He was unable to legitimately defend his position when he was confronted. I can almost guarantee that his constituents will make sure he is a one-term representative. As a result of this, more and more courageous pro-life advocates came out to express truth…in love. We do not have to act like those attacking us; we can stand firm and share the truth without acting boorish.
Chick-Fil-A — A Great Story
According to top business analyst Mark Kalinowski, Chick-fil-A’s 2018 sales have taken it from the No. 7 spot in 2017 to the cusp of No. 3, trailing only McDonald’s and Starbucks, and besting fast-food favorites Taco Bell, Subway, and Burger King. Who would have guessed?
The success Of Chick-Fil-A has also been achieved in spite of attempts by pro-homosexual individuals and groups to destroy the fast-food chain over past comments of its CEO, Dan Cathy (his views on marriage and sexuality). During a 2012 radio interview, Cathy, son of the Chic-fil-A founder, famously said that neither he nor the chain supported same-sex marriage. “I think we are inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, ‘We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage,’” Cathy said at the time. “We are very much supportive of … the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives.”
Courage to do what’s right gets the right results. The leadership’s courage to stand up for the Lord and what is right has now got it to the cusp of being #3 in the nation! And doing it by being open six days a week! This is the behavior I am writing about today.
So what shall we do? Speak up and do it with confidence. Act like it is the truth that it is, that you know a majority opinion (which it is) abides by that opinion because it is the truth. Never apologize or make even a single excuse for it and most of all, do not give in to fear of man. It is best to fear God and never man. Fear of man tempts you to go along with any opposing argument, life, or half-truth. People do not like to be criticized or ridiculed (who does?)—they want to be liked, loved, appreciated, etc. They will compromise in order to be seen that way. But…WWJD? (What would Jesus do?)
God’s Word About America
Some years ago my wife and I were praying and quite upset about Obama being able to get elected a second time. The first time was enough of a shock, but the second really threw us. I won’t share all He said to us, but I will share a few sentences which really resonated with us.
Here goes:
“Yes, pray for your nation but know this: ask Me for this nation. This nation is not walking in My Kingdom, and you know it well. It must come down, you know it well. It must come down, and it is coming down, because My word has said, ‘Again I will shake all things and that which cannot be shaken will remain.’ And the evil that is operating in this nation is of death and destruction and violence. It is the spirit of the enemy, and you know it well.
Pray for good; pray for Me to move among the people, but do not pray for Babylon, for it is already judged. This nation is not the nation that I birthed. Do not lament for it, for surely the kingdom of that spirit is passing away. It cannot stand, for it is unrighteous. Do not lament for unrighteousness, but rejoice that righteousness is arising. Call things that be not as though they were, as I do, for My righteousness sits on the throne. You are of My nation, My kingdom. Do not lament; rejoice, for the King is coming – the King of righteousness is coming, and that is your leader. Look to Him.

Rejoice that the King is victorious; align yourself with the King… Do not align with this world system and the things of this world. I told you — love not the world or the things of the world.”
We do not want to stay a Babylon, right? We want to return to the greatness and morality, and freedom that our nation was based upon: biblical principles that created a populace that wished to help one another prosper and saw that prosperity as a good thing, not an inherent evil. Freedom as expressed in a Constitution that has held to a righteous republic, a nation of law, not majority rule. It has stood the test of time until recently and we can and should do our part in helping return to those principles.
